Old fashioned rolls with jam, ingredients:
- 250 g of margarine,
- 300 g of flour,
- 1 spoon of brandy and
- 6 tablespoons of cold water.
For the filling:
- molasses
For sprinkling:
- powdered sugar
Old-fashioned rolls with jam, preparation:
- Rub the margarine into the flour, add water, brandy and knead the dough.
- On a lightly floured work surface, roll out the dough to a thickness of about 2 mm, cut into cubes 5 cm x 5 cm and put a teaspoon of jam on each cube.
- Shape the dough into rolls and arrange them on a baking sheet covered with baking paper.
- Heat the oven to 180C and bake the rolls for about 20 minutes or until they are lightly browned.
- Cool the baked rolls and roll them in powdered sugar while still cold.
