Bádnjača is a cake served on Christmas Eve.
Christmas tree, ingredients:
- 40 g of fresh yeast
- 400 ml of warm water
- 1 spoon of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 700 g of flour
- 50 ml + 2 spoons of oil
Christmas Eve, notes:
- Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Add half the flour, oil and salt, then mix well. After that, add the rest of the flour and continue mixing with a blender until it becomes very thick.
- When it can no longer be mixed and should be mixed, pour over the 2 spoons of oil, you can also mix 3 and mix a little.
- Leave the dough covered with a cloth to rest for 20-30 minutes in a warm place. Then take out the dough, knead it a little and pat it out with your hand to spread it out, so that it is like a thin bun. Place in a 30 cm baking tray.
- Prick with a fork, brush with oil and leave to stand for 20 minutes. Turn on the oven to heat it to 200 degrees and put it to bake.
- It is baked when it is nicely browned, about 25 minutes, depending on the oven. Take out the baked scone and "wash", that means coat it with a little water, wrap it in a cloth and leave it until serving.
