Baklava with cherries, with walnuts, with coconut, with raisins... And why not baklava with strawberries?!
The most popular baklava is with cherries. But until the cherries arrive, a delicious strawberry baklava might as well...
Baklava with strawberries, ingredients:
- 1 kg of strawberries (roughly)
- 500 g thin crusts (12 crusts)
- 3 eggs
- 0,5 dl oil
- 2 dl yogurt
- 5 spoon of sugar
- 1 spoon of vanilla sugar
- 24 spoons of semolina (4 for each strudel)
Syrup:
- 600 g of sugar
- 6 dl of water
- 1 bag of vanilla sugar
- 1/2 lemon
Baklava with strawberries, preparation:
- Clean the strawberries and cut them into smaller pieces.
- Beat the eggs, yogurt, sparkling water, sugar and vanilla sugar.
- Join two crusts for each strudel.
- Spread the first crust with 5-6 tablespoons of filling, sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of semolina, place the second crust, arrange pieces of strawberries on it and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of semolina.
- Twist the strudel.
- You repeat the procedure until you use up all the skins.
- Arrange in a greased tray.
- Cut the strudels into the desired pieces and spread with a few spoonfuls of the filling.
- Bake for about 25 minutes at 200 degrees.
For the syrup, boil the water and sugar for a few minutes after it boils.
- Add sliced lemon and vanilla sugar.
- Turn off the stove and let it "simmer" until the stove cools down.
- Pour warm syrup over the warm baklava. Adjust the amount of syrup to taste, plus/minus.
If you have more than 12 crusts, divide the ingredients into a proportional number of parts.
