Balkan Cheese Festival this weekend at Mikser House - Pixabay

This weekend, March 12th and 13th, in the "Mikser House" in Belgrade, the third selling exhibition of indigenous cheeses of the Balkans, "Balkan Cheese Festival", will be held.

This event will present indigenous cheeses from the Balkans and parts of the Mediterranean to a wider audience, with an emphasis on cheeses from Serbia. About a hundred cheeses and delicacies from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy and Macedonia will be presented at the festival. Visitors will be able to taste rare and unusual types of cheeses and gain knowledge about this food in lectures and workshops, and enjoy pairing top wines with cheeses.

The festival program is enriched with presentations and lectures.

The presentation entitled "Who found his cheese?", inspired by the book about changes: "Who stole my cheese?" by Spencer Johnson, will be held on Saturday at noon by Dragan Đorđević, Chief Hedonist Officer of the Association of Authentic Hedonists.

Lectures on the topics "Cheese making - craft, science, art" and "How cheese kings are born" will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 14 p.m. by Prof. Dr. Jelena Miočinović and Dr. Zorana Miloradović from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade
Healthy meals with cheese will be prepared on Saturday from 12:30 by Nada Ličina from the association "Na putu zdravlja". On the same day, from 15 p.m., he will hold the culinary workshop "Trips and cheese" inspired by cheese

Nebojša Anđelković, gastronome, lecturer at Il Primo cooking school and musician.

On Sunday from 12:30, Dragoslav Jovanović will prepare cheese spreads with sremuše, dill, with renom and bacon.

The working hours of the "Balkan Cheese Festival" are from 10:00 a.m. to 20:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The price of a one-day ticket is 200 dinars.
