Bećar pie - when I realized that I haven't made bećar pie this summer, I decided to make this pie.

Reveler paprikash, bećarac or sataraš, as some call it, is a very popular dish during the summer months in our region. As many houses, as many different ways of preparation. Believe it or not, I didn't prepare it once this year.

The main ingredients of Bećar stew are: onion, red tomato and paprika. In addition to the listed ingredients, blue tomatoes (eggplant), zucchini, mushrooms, rice, egg are also used... Spices: salt, pepper, garlic, hot pepper... As a side dish, rice, boiled potatoes or something similar is often added.

I usually prepare it with the addition of eggplant, zucchini and mushrooms, and I also like to add a grain of sweet corn. I don't add eggs, and neither does rice.

The pie is a hit. I'm waiting for the tasters to rate it.

Bećar stew, bećarac or sataraš, as you call it, is a very popular dish during the summer months in our country. Try this unique recipe for bejar pie!

  • 4 pieces of egg
  • 0,75 cups of sour water
  • 0,5 cups of oil
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup of wheat semolina
  • 0,5 cup polenta
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 200 g of cheese (harder)
  • 50 g of onion (small head)
  • 150 g of red pepper
  • 350 g of tomatoes
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • sugar (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)
  • hot pepper (to taste)
  1. First, we will deal with the preparation of bećar stew for pie.
  2. Chop the pepper into smaller cubes.
  3. Grate the onion.
  4. Peel and chop the tomatoes.
  5. Chop the garlic.
  6. Fry the pepper in a little hot oil at a high temperature for a few minutes.
  7. Then add the onion, tomato and garlic.
  8. Fry the bećar at a high temperature until it becomes medium thick (7-10 minutes will be enough).
  9. Season it to taste with hot pepper, pepper and sugar
  10. Leave it to cool.
  11. Combine the dry ingredients.
  12. Beat the eggs, add the oil and pickled water, and then the dry ingredients.
  13. Beat the resulting mass with a mixer so that all the ingredients are well combined.
  14. Add becarac and mix.
  15. Finally, stir in the crumbled cheese.
  16. Bake the pie in a pan of your choice.
  17. I baked it in a bread mold.
  18. The pie in this case is thicker and requires longer baking.
  19. I baked it in a heated oven for about 30 minutes at 170 degrees and about 20 minutes at 200.
  20. Before cutting, cool the pie well so that it does not fall apart
  21. A pie prepared in this way stays fresh for a long time.
  22. It has a moist texture that pleases the palate.
