Belgian waffles with chocolate - a simple recipe if you have a waffle maker, if you don't have one you can bake in molds.

  • 2 cups flour
  • 0,75 cups of sugar
  • 3,5 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 2 eggs (separated)
  • 1,5 cup of milk
  • 1 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 200 g of cooking chocolate
  1. Whisk the flour, sugar and baking powder in a bowl.
  2. In another bowl, beat the egg yolks until you get a foamy texture. Add the butter and milk and mix until combined.
  3. Add beaten egg yolks with milk and butter to the dry mass of flour. Mix until you get an even mass.
  4. In the third bowl, mix the foamy egg white until you get a thick foam.
  5. Add the foam to the mixture with a spatula and mix gently.
  6. Grease a baking pan with oil, butter or spray if you have cooking spray. Pour the mass and bake for about 3 minutes until they get a golden yellow color. About 10 pieces come out.
  7. Melt the chocolate in a small saucepan with a little oil and pour it over the baked waffles. Wait for them to cool or refrigerate to harden the chocolate and serve.
Instead of chocolate, you can use any fruit syrup or whipped cream, of your choice.
You can also buy grandma's cake if you don't have a baking pan and sprinkles, and cover them with chocolate or syrup.
