Bobove pihtije - Gvozdena Živković - Recipes and Cookbook online

Bob's quinces.

Bean sprouts, ingredients:

  • 300 g of dry beans
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 dl oil
  • 1 teaspoon of allspice

Bean quince, preparation:

  • Bob pour cold water. Pour this amount of beans with a liter of water. You pour the bob in the evening so that it swells overnight and you can remove the membrane.
  • Cut the membrane with a knife and thus clean the beans. Place the cleaned beans in a bowl of cold water.
  • Put the cleaned beans to cook on low heat. Add salt and 2 tablespoons of oil.
  • At the end of cooking, add cleaned, crushed garlic.
  • Take out the beans with a spoon and taste if they are cooked. If there is a lot of water, pour off the excess and mash the beans. It can also be whipped with a mixer. The pureed bean mixture will be as thick as puree.
  • Pour the prepared mixture into deep plates or bowls and leave to cool and harden.
  • Before serving, cut the beans into cubes or rhombuses and cover with oil.
  • Heat the oil in a pan and add allspice.

It is usually prepared for fasting celebrations and served as an appetizer.

  1. A perfectly prepared dish. It's a shame that it's a little harder to find the ingredients to prepare, but it's worth the effort. This is on a par with the very popular hummus. Well done Gvozdena!
