Our colleague Kristina Gašpar sent us an interesting article with the title "Christmas and New Year's snack” with ideas for the New Year's and holiday table, illustrated with numerous photos.
Christmas and New Year's snack - Kristina Gašpar
The holidays are approaching, and with it the pre-holiday euphoria...
What and how to prepare without it costing us a lot considering that all of our wallets have been empty for a long time.
With a little imagination and good will, you can really prepare a lot. Various ideas can be found on the internet, but somehow I always like to let my imagination run wild and do what I imagine.
Of course, I don't always get what I want either, but that doesn't worry me. Anyway, no one will go hungry 😉
I enjoy preparing food, and I pay special attention to decoration. You will agree with me, it is inevitable when it comes to big holidays.
When it comes to winter holidays, the colors that I associate with them are: green, red, gold and the inevitable color of chocolate. When preparing saltines, I find most of the colors in the food itself, but when preparing sweets, I also use food coloring.
I'm giving you a few ideas and tips, and everyone can adapt them to their wishes and taste 😉
For a savory snack, as an appetizer, you can make delicious sandwiches from mini Bavarian buns.
You can fill the sandwiches as desired and to taste, and the advice for decoration is red pepper, hot or sweet (although I must admit that this pepper in the photos is more effective than sweet), lettuce, pickles, green and black olives. Play, chop and poke ;):
Integral, homemade, bruschetta, decorated with a part of paprika and a parsley leaf.
(I prepared these bruschettas from homemade unleavened, failed, bread. I cut the bread into thin slices, sprinkled with olive oil, sprinkled with herbs and salt, and toasted in the oven):
Canapes on a piece of Bavarian bun coated with cream butter, then put a piece of cheese with blue molds, a slice of tomato, a dry olive and a basil leaf:
Integral crackers "packaged" a little differently. A ball made of dough, placed in a pepper basket, into which a piece of walnut is pressed. I advise you to put crackers in red and green baskets for the upcoming holidays:
Canapes on a piece of Bavarian bun coated with cream butter, then put a piece of cheese with blue molds, a slice of tomato, a dry olive and a basil leaf:
You can decorate the windows like this:
You can also decorate the cold appetizer in the following way:
Stuffed eggs:
Appetizer suggestions:
You can decorate salad and Russian salad in the following way:
And the cabbage salad like this:
And you can also prepare my blanched salad (you can see the recipe HERE):
My advice is to prepare meat that is tasty and cold, in addition to pork, you can prepare something like this:
Or this one:
You can prepare the bread in a slightly different way:
Risotto that is also delicious when cold:
I think there were quite enough savory suggestions, so let's move on to the sweet 😉
When it comes to choosing and decorating the cake, you will have to decide for yourself. Most of them are choosing to decorate with fondant lately, which I avoid in a wide circle whenever I can. I usually opt for chocolate 😉
Ice cubes with currants and coconut:
Juicy Cupcakes:
Small cookies are usually prepared for these holidays that can be kept for a long time, so here are some suggestions:
Chocolate and marzipan packaged as follows:
Chocolate, stuffed, dates:
Angry birds for "angry" guests 😉 (These are cakepops):
Mini Chocolate Cupcakes:
Gingerbread and cookies of your choice in festive packaging that you can design yourself:
Or decorated:
And you can package it all up like this:
