Most of us avoid puff pastry, especially store-bought puff pastry, and making it at home is not so simple and quick. However, for some pastries and servings, it is always good to have as many varieties of dough as possible from which you can make various shapes. This quick puff pastry only in terms of ingredients, it resembles a puff pastry, it is soft and easy to work with, it has less fat, but the speed of its preparation is what recommends it to try it and let your imagination run free.

They can be hot dog rolls, empty and filled rolls, various shapes of animals for your little ones, bases for mini pizzas and the like.

Quick puff pastry, ingredients:

  • 100 g of margarine for dough or butter
  • 200 ml sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 bag of baking powder
  • 300 g of flour (soft type 400)

Quick puff pastry, preparation:

  • Knead a soft, non-sticky dough from all the ingredients.
  • Put the dough in cling film and leave it in the fridge for 2 hours.
  • You can knead it the day before and use it as needed.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface, cut the shapes as desired:
    strips for hot dogs, triangles for rolls or whatever you want...
  • Brush the pastry with egg and bake in a preheated oven
    250 degrees until golden brown.
  • This amount of dough is enough for a small company or the needs of a family of four for breakfast and school snacks. For larger needs, double the amount.
  • You can also make sweet rolls that you will fill with chocolate cream or some jam.

The prepared quick puff pastry can be kept in the refrigerator for 2-3 days and used as needed.
