Constantinople cake - Snežana Kitanović - Recipes and Cookbook online

Another one in a series of traditional recipes from Sremac, the delicious Constantinople oblanda.

A delicacy that can also be found on the Christmas table of Slovaks from Vojvodina. ❤Srem❤

Constantinople wafer, ingredients:

  • 3 sheets of small wafers
  • 9 egg whites
  • 18 spoon of sugar
  • 1 spoon of honey
  • 1-2 handfuls of chopped walnuts

Constantinople wafer, preparation:

  • Put water in a large pot to boil.
  • Put the egg whites, sugar and honey in another small bowl, and when the water in the bowl boils, put the other bowl on top of it and cook, stirring constantly, on low heat.
  • The filling is cooked when the mass is thick and hard to fall off the beater.
  • At the end, add walnuts and fill the wafers.
