Tsicvara is an old traditional dish, which was very popular in the old days in Serbia, Montenegro and Herzegovina. This way of preparing cicvara is older than 100 years.

Cicvara is made from flour, butter and cheese. In the old days, cicvara was made in one way in the city, and a little differently in the countryside.

In the city, they usually put cheese in the pan first with some water. When the cheese melted and the water boiled, flour was added, and then the mixture was mixed and cooked. When the cicvara was almost ready, they would add a little more butter or cream, then cook it a little more and then serve it on plates while it was still warm.

In the countryside, they would first put butter or cream in a pan with a little water. When it boiled, they would pour in the flour. When everything was cooked, they would break in the cheese and milk, then cook until the cheese melted.

Corn flour was used to prepare cicvara.
