Sorrel or sorrel is plum compote, a delicacy that was prepared in the Pirot area.
Sorrel, or sorrel, is prepared in two ways:
- The first way is to make it from a wild variety of plum called "trgonj", characterized by its red color.
- It was prepared by boiling plums with very little sugar and eating it immediately, with or without bread.
- Another way is to cook it from yellow plum "jarilka" to which corn flour was added
- There is no precise measure, the plum is split, poured with a little water and cooked for about 10-15 minutes at a moderate temperature, until it thickens.
Extremely refreshing at high temperatures.
