Using a traditional cake recipe as a base, with a few of our additions and improvisations, we got a very good combination of tradition and innovation, which results in a chocolate cake with a fantastic taste. It sounds like a fairy tale, but by re-reading, constantly trying and searching for the perfect ratio of ingredients, we came up with a winning combination and the desired recipe - Chocolate cake.

  • 250 g flour (all-purpose)
  • 400 g of sugar
  • 200 g of cocoa powder (quality, unsweetened)
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1,5 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of espresso (espresso instant coffee)
  • 250 ml milk
  • 125 ml vegetable oil (sunflower)
  • 2 pieces of eggs
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 250 ml of water (hot, boiling)
  1. Preheat the oven to 175 °C. Prepare a baking dish, spread it with a thin layer of butter and sprinkle a little (minimally) flour.
  2. Add the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and espresso to a large mixing bowl and mix with a hand mixer. Mix until the mixture is uniform.
  3. Add milk, oil, eggs and vanilla to the mixture. Mix with a mixer, using a medium mixer speed. Mix until the ingredients are well mixed and the mixture is uniform. Reduce the speed of the mixer, and carefully add the boiling water. When everything is well mixed, finish with one minute of mixing on high speed of the mixer to make the mixture airy.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Bake in the oven for 30-35 min. Check if the cake is ready by inserting a toothpick into the center of the cake. If you remove the toothpick "clean", the cake is ready.
  5. Remove from the oven and let the chocolate cake cool for about 10 minutes. After that, remove from the baking dish and cool completely.
