Chomlek.

Chomlek, ingredients:

  • 2 onions
  • 600 g of ground beef
  • 3 tablespoons mint (chopped)
  • 1 piece of egg
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • salt (if needed)
  • 2 dl of white wine
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • spice mix (a pinch each)
  • 1 teaspoon of ground paprika
  • 4 tablespoons of breadcrumbs

Chomlek, preparation:

  • Clean the onion and cut it into cubes.
  • Combine ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, three spoons of chopped onion, a spoon of chopped mint, a little ground pepper and salt to taste in a suitable bowl.
  • Mix by hand to obtain a uniform mixture, and then shape smaller meatballs with oiled hands.
  • Fry the meatballs in hot oil until golden brown, and take them out.
  • Fry the remaining onion a little in the fat from the meat.
  • Add ground paprika, flour, remaining mint and spices to taste.
  • Add the meatballs, white wine and water to soak the meatballs and mix everything gently.
  • Bake at 250 degrees until the excess liquid evaporates.DSCN0013
