The ceremonial closing of the exhibition "So, you are that Uroš Predić?" will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, starting at 19 p.m. in the Salon of the National Museum of Zrenjanin.
During the more than two and a half months of the exhibition, the number of visitors exceeded 7.000, and a rich accompanying program was organized, which included interpretations of the exhibition, art workshops "Image from the Clouds", a ceremonial presentation of awards and praise to the participants of the literary and art competition on the occasion of the 160 anniversary of the birth of Uroš Predić, promotion of Radovan Vlahović's books, New Year's concert by students of the Josif Marinković music school, lecture by Aleksandra Ninković Tašić "Science and art hand in hand - Mihajlo Pupin and Uroš Predić", lecture by Olivera Skoko "The last days of the great painter", commemoration of the World day of tourist guides with a lecture "Mayan culture on the soil of Mexico" and a "Saxophone and piano" concert.
The act of ceremonial closing of the exhibition will be accompanied by a review of the accompanying programs and the course of the exhibition itself, photos from workshops, guidance and other events, as well as the discovery of guest appearances of this exhibition in the future. The author of the exhibition, senior curator-art historian, Olivera Skoko, will speak.
Let's remind: Exhibition from the collection of the National Museum of Zrenjanin So you are that Uroš Predić? it was opened in the Salon of the Zrenjanin Museum on December 7, 2017, on the occasion of commemorating the 160th anniversary of the birth of the painter. The Zrenjanin National Museum has the honor of being the only one in Serbia to preserve the valuable legacy of Uroš Predić, and the intention was to mark this important anniversary with an adequate exhibition and catalog that would remind us of the importance of the personality and art of Uroš Predić.
Just one year after the painter's death, in 1954, the Zrenjanin National Museum received almost the entire inventory of Predić's Belgrade studio, which served as the basis for this exhibition consisting of 32 works by Uroš Predić (paintings, drawings, studies), as well as sculptures and drawings. other authors who represented this artist. Also, personal items, furniture, photographs, business cards, postcards, letters, decorations, diary, painting props and material, catalogs, books, magazines... will be exhibited at the exhibition.
With this exhibition, which was organized on the occasion of the 160th anniversary of Uroš's birth, we once again tried to point out not only the greatness of his importance, but also the inseparable relationship between a painter and a city through a legacy that makes the Zrenjanin Museum both privileged and unique when it comes to life Uroš Predić.
