Belgrade, October 10, 2017 - Chief Marko Lukić, won a package of 90 kg of fish, as the fastest among colleagues in filleting fish. This competition was organized in the METRO HoReCa Center on the occasion of "Own Business Day". which is celebrated around the world with the aim of supporting the entrepreneurial spirit. On this day, entrepreneurs have only one goal to present their users with special offers that they have created thanks to the METRO company.
The event was magnified by representatives of the embassies in Serbia, as well as many other eminent people from the countryC and foreign bosses who were in the role of jury. The best in the challenge won valuable prizes.
All competitors had a special task to fillet different types of fish in the shortest possible time. The challenge was greater because the fish was packed in special boxes, the composition of which was unknown to the participants until the moment they were opened. An eminent jury selected the best based on key criteria such as speed, precision and quality of filleting, as well as the appearance of the fillet and the amount of ingredients. All competitors won a diploma for their participation, and the best won special prizes - the first place competitor received a package of fresh fish in their own weight, while the runner-up and third place were awarded a package of METRO products.
The champion of the challenge, Marko Lukić, chef from the Caffe Caffe & Fish restaurant, said on this occasion:
"This competition is one of the many challenges in my professional career, primarily because fish filleting is one of the more demanding techniques. We are all masters of our work, but only finesse distinguishes us. Let's just say that today was definitely my day, on the Day of Own Business, a special holiday for all of us from the hospitality world."
In addition to this special event, recently in three METRO distribution centers in Belgrade, young chefs from the Junior Chefs club made sushi rolls in a record length of 150 with their skill and treated the visitors present in the facilities with them.
The company METRO celebrates its own business day together with its 21 million professional customers worldwide. The event has become a tradition and is celebrated every year, on the second Tuesday in October, with the aim of further increasing the number of good entrepreneurial stories.
