Danijela Paracki - HamoniJA = books - a quarter of a century of successful work

The exhibited publications emphasize the meaning of design in a specific way, emphasizing that among the necessary elements of books, catalogs and monographs, design stands out as a particularly impressive part whose task is to ensure quality communication between the reader and the text. Following the highest standards of design practice, Danijela Paracki, by choosing the works offered at this exhibition, enables us to see directly the importance of successful cooperation between the designer and the author of the text and the book editor. It is precisely this communication and cooperation that provides a solid connection between the written content and the visual impression, which are a prerequisite for the creation of a good book.

The name of Danijela Paracki occupies a prominent place among those who deal with the book's graphic equipment. The previous solo exhibition "Book Space" was held in the small gallery of ULUPUDS in Belgrade from September 5 to 14, 2016.

As part of the "Book Space" exhibition, representative works from her rich design opus were presented - books created since 1996. The exhibited publications indicate that this is an author who knows how to respond to various challenges and demands, but also to maintain the autonomy of the design profession and to express his own creative potential. They were created in interaction - in a creative dialogue with the authors of the text - and they are characterized by a high aesthetic level of graphic and typographic solutions, which discreetly but unmistakably follow and complete the basic idea of the content. Monographs dedicated to Olga Jevrić, Lazar Trifunović, Petar Omčikus, Bata Mihailović, Nikola Tesla, exhibition catalogs Fashion in Belgrade 1918-1941, Applied Art and Belgrade 1918-1941, Sava Rakočević - paintings and drawings, Constantine the Great and the Milan Edict 313, Rubens' circles , problem studies Gamzigrad - Felix Romuliana, Belgrade Fortress, City Ceramics of Belgrade, Gifts of Sofia and Milojko Dunjić and other publications designed by Danijela Paracki in the domestic environment are rare and bright examples of the inventiveness of graphic equipment and the designer's highly professional attitude towards the text that it visually shapes. Arising from a true understanding of the problematic of the text and a critical reflection on the available illustrative material, Danijela Paracki's graphic design stands out as a paradigm, an aesthetic and ethical model, and is thus interpolated into the fabric of broader social responsibilities. Thanks to this, during her twenty-year long career, Danijela Paracki gained the status of a respectable associate of many institutions of science, culture and art in Belgrade, such as the Archaeological Institute and the SANU Gallery, the National Museum in Belgrade, the Museum of Applied Arts, the Museum of Science and Technology, the Museum Nikola Tesla, Pedagogical Museum, Belgrade City Museum, French Cultural Center and others.
