Homemade shepherd's pie - ideal for Sunday lunch

Homemade shepherd's pie – because of this warm bite, all relatives and friends will flock to your home for another portion!

During colder days, it is allowed to warm up a little with the help of a spoon. That's exactly what you'll achieve if you make this homemade meat pie.

Although lamb was used on this occasion, you can replace it with beef and delight your family!

ingredients:

- 800 g of lamb - 600 g of red onion - 80 to 100 g of carrots - 80 to 100 g of parsley root - 80 to 100 g of celery root - 10 g of garlic - 200 g of peeled tomatoes - 1 teaspoon of tomato puree - 100 g of peas - on top a knife of ground red pepper - 1 bay leaf - 1 small sprig of rosemary - salt - pepper - half a liter of lamb stock - olive oil

For the puree:

- 400 g of potatoes - 50 g of butter - 100 ml of milk - 1 egg

Preparation:

Sauté finely chopped red onion in olive oil, and when it turns yellow, add chopped vegetables and two tablespoons of stock. Fry the ground and salted lamb without fat (if you have completely lean pieces of meat, use a few drops of olive oil) and add it to the pot with the sautéed vegetables.

Add coarsely chopped garlic, pepper, crushed red pepper, finely chopped rosemary, bay leaf and a spoonful of peel. Fry for a minute to two.

Then add chopped tomatoes and boil for ten minutes. At the end, add the peas and let them cook for another two minutes, not longer, because everything will be baked in the oven.

Make a puree out of boiled potatoes, milk and butter. Cool it to 40 degrees or room temperature so you can mix in the egg. This temperature is important, because in a hot puree the egg would curdle.

Remove the laurel from the prepared mixture and then fill the baking dish with it, cover everything with puree. Be careful not to overfill the bowl with the meat mixture and leave room for the puree.

Bake at 180 degrees for ten minutes.

Serve the pie warm and enjoy.

Pleasant!
