Homemade đuvec.

Homemade đuvec, ingredients:

  • 500 g of potatoes,
  • 2 heads of onion,
  • 1 carrot,
  • 1 teaspoon of dry herb seasoning,
  • 2 bay leaves,
  • 250 g of dry meat,
  • 50 g of rice,
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika,
  • if necessary oil,
  • pepper to taste
  • water if necessary.

Homemade đuvec, preparation:

  • Peel the potatoes, wash them and cut them into slices.
  • Pour oil into a pan, add finely chopped onion, sauté, add grated carrot, then sauté it as well (adding a little water).
  • Add diced dry meat, sweet paprika and simmer a little longer. Mix in dry herbs, add pepper, potatoes and rice, bay leaf, cover everything with water (enough to cover) and boil briefly (5 minutes).
  • Pour into a refractory container (or tray) and place in a heated oven to bake at 180 degrees for about an hour.

Tip: It is not necessary to add salt, because dry meat is salty by itself. An old, traditional, proven good recipe.
