Homemade ketchup (multipurpose) is a mixture of tomatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, herbs and olive oil. This one recipe for ketchup can be used to prepare: soups, sauces, various dishes, pies, pizzas, sandwiches, bruschetta...
And if you add water in a 1:1 ratio, you can drink it as a juice. You can add olive oil during cooking or just before use.
You can also use ketchup without adding oil. You can prepare homemade ketchup the way you like it best.
The quantities of vegetables and spices are not binding. Create the relationship that works best for you. It is important to choose healthy and ripe fruits for the preparation of tomato ketchup or juice.

Homemade ketchup (all-purpose) is a mixture of tomatoes, carrots, onions, garlic, herbs and olive oil.
- 100 g of onion
- 200 g of carrots
- 500 g tomatoes (peeled)
- 1 piece of red pepper
- 1 clove of garlic
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of sea salt
- 0,25 teaspoons of pepper
- 3 pieces of oregano (2-3 sprigs)
- 3 pieces of basil (leaf)
- 1 piece of mint (leaf)
- 1 dl of olive oil
- Blend the peeled tomatoes.
- Cut the onion and carrot into smaller pieces, add the garlic and 2 dl of water.
- Cook for ten minutes.
- Blend the mixture and add tomatoes.
- Cook for ten minutes at a medium temperature, then add the listed spices and oil.
- Finely chop the herbs.
- Boil for another minute.
- Pour ketchup into sterilized jars or bottles.
- Store it in the usual way.
