Strawberry jam opens jam season. You can prepare it in various ways. This is one way that I liked. You can prepare your favorite strawberry jam the way you like it best.
Strawberry jam, ingredients:
- 2 kg of cleaned strawberries
- 750 g of sugar
- 200 g of grated apples
Strawberry jam, preparation:
- Combine the strawberries and sugar and mash them gently with your hands.
- Cook them at a medium temperature for about 40 minutes, then add the grated apples.
- Cook the jam for another hour, then partially grind it with a stick mixer.
- Cook it until you get the desired thickness.
- Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars, close them with metal caps and pasteurize them in the oven (at 150 degrees for 15-20 minutes).
Notes:
- Strawberry jam is one of the rarer jams.
- I like it as it is, so I don't cook it too much.
- If you still prefer marmalade, chop the fruit completely.
- I add an apple to make the jam a little thicker (the apple contains a natural thickener - pectin).
From this quantity you will get 5 jars of 370 ml.
