Raspberry jam you can prepare in various ways. I share with you the simplest - according to our grandmothers' recipes, raspberry jam without preservatives. Raspberries, sugar and, if desired, a little vitamin C (prevents oxidation). And that is all.

When preparing the raspberry jam, be careful not to overcook it, as you will end up with sulc. If you decide to use raspberry juice, mash and strain them to remove the pits.

  • 2 kg of raspberries
  • 700 g of sugar

Raspberry jam without preservatives, preparation:

  • Prepare a pan with a larger diameter (approx. 30 cm).
  • Combine raspberries and sugar.
  • Cook at a higher temperature for about half an hour, then reduce to a medium temperature and cook for about 15 minutes.
  • If necessary, extend the cooking time.

In order to check that the raspberry jam has the desired consistency, pour some jam into a bowl (which you previously kept in the refrigerator for about 5 minutes) and cool it by stirring.

You will see how the raspberry jam gels when it cools even though it is runny when it is hot.

Pour the finished jam into sterilized jars, close them with metal caps, put them in the freezer and store them in the usual way.

Raspberry jam (like all other jams) can be spread on bread or used to prepare various desserts.
