elvis presley, probably has a more interesting career than any other American musician. He was born into a poor family in the city of East Tupelo, Mississippi, USA. He was very talented, because in addition to music, he was also involved in acting.

Originally, he gained popularity through acting, and his music was also created from the films in which he successfully performed. Some songs from his films would become hits in America, and then in other parts of the world.

The first such hits were "Heartbreak Hotel" and "Jailhouse Rock", which are still considered his greatest achievements.

He starred in the movie Love Me Tender in 1956, and in that movie he performed the song of the same name, which became a hit. After he saw that his music was doing well, he devoted himself more seriously to it. He started releasing his albums and had great success. Elvis would probably have been even more successful if he hadn't gone to military service in 1958. He was in the army until 1960.

He continued to release new songs, but he was not as successful as with his first albums. In addition, his name, in the world of music, was more powerful than ever.

He was given various nicknames and titles, the most famous being "The King of Rock and Roll", or simply: The King. At one time he was even more popular than the Beatles, considering that the Beatles were just starting out and he was at their peak.

Many consider 1968 to be the year of Elvis' comeback. The first significant event of that year was his marriage. In the same year, he returns to the music scene with one of his biggest songs, "If I Can Dream". The following year he released, in my opinion, his biggest hit: "Suspicious Minds".

For a while he lived in his Graceland home in Memphis, which, thanks to him, is one of the most famous houses in the world. Elvis, at that time, had it all. He was the world's first mega star.

From then until the end of his career, Elvis was never the same. It didn't have to be.

In 1973, he divorced his wife and that's when everything went downhill for him. In the same year, he faced heart problems, which he struggled with later. Over the next 4 years, Elvis had various health problems.

He tried to heal the sadness and suffering, due to all the circumstances that accompanied him, in casinos, as he stated in one of his most famous songs "Viva Las Vegas". First of all, he became addicted to gambling. During that period he had terrible stomach problems. This is exactly what he tried to describe with his last album in 1977, called "Moody Blue". The songs from that album: "Way Down" and "Moody Blue", best described that state of Elvis, and became, unfortunately, one of his greatest songs. He died on August 16 of the same year, and obesity was cited as one of the biggest reasons for his death.

Of course, after his death, there were many theories that he did not, in fact, die. There is an interesting picture from 1982, taken by an unknown artist, in front of Elvis' house. The picture shows the glass front door of the house, through which Elvis can be seen sitting inside. All these years there have been people who look like Elvis and all Elvis fans would think it was him.

Elvis' career had many more interesting details. Let's say he was born on January 8, the same day as David Bowie. It wouldn't be a surprise if that date were to be celebrated as Rock's birthday, somewhere in America or Great Britain, or even both, since Bowie was British but lived in America during his formative years. Today, neither of them are alive anymore, and the interesting thing is that both of them had very successful last albums and that both of them described how close death is with those albums. Also, these two are considered the greatest singers ever, but in my opinion, Elvis is much better, regardless of Bowie's creativity.

Another interesting fact is that Elvis did not write any songs. Someone else always wrote his songs. Or he covered other people's songs, so he would make them even more popular. At that time, it was a great honor for any musician.

Elvis is one of the best-selling artists of all time, in fact, he is the second best-selling artist after the Beatles, making him the best-selling solo artist of all time. He even outsells Michael Jackson, who is in third place. When I mentioned Jackson, he also had a small family connection with Elvis, since he married his daughter.

Elvis popularized gambling, more precisely he popularized Las Vegas. Without Elvis, Las Vegas probably wouldn't be what it is today.

Elvis was also a sex symbol. Probably not the first, but the first big one. Simply, people kept saying: "It doesn't matter if you are male or female, you had to stop and look at him when he was next to you. He looked so good.” What, for example, was a normal thing for girls to scream and faint at Beatles concerts, it was also normal for Elvis. That kind of euphoria started right when he appeared.

Since this is a site Recipes and Cookbook online, the food is also worth mentioning. As a child, Elvis ate everything that was served to him, he was silent and suffered. When he lived in Graceland, where he had a large crew to take care of him, and even bodyguards, there was a list of dishes that were never allowed to be made and eaten. Let's say, one of those forbidden foods was fish. Also, on some menus you will find Elvis's sandwich, which he loved. It's a peanut butter and banana sandwich. Great stuff. It's just that, of course, the peanut butter sticks a little to your throat as you eat it, although the banana dilutes it a bit. I wonder how Elvis could sing after that, but well…

Elvis really was an amazing singer. They ranked him in the 100 greatest singers in the history of modern music, at a high third place. Only Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin are ahead of him. I can't say I disagree, although I personally think Elvis is the best singer, after all. It won't be long before someone sings like that without using some effects to improve his voice.
