Embargo cake - Suzana Mitić

  • 4 grated apples
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1/2 cup of grits
  • 1/2 cup polenta
  • 1 bag of baking powder
  • 1/2 bag of baking soda
  • 2 vanilla sugars
  • To coat:
  • 4 cups of jam
  • 50 g of ground walnuts
  1. Grate apples and add sugar. Leave to stand for about 15 minutes. Add flour, semolina, polenta, oil, baking powder, baking soda and vanilla sugar.
  2. Mix everything with a ladle to obtain a homogeneous mixture. Bake in a tray lined with baking paper at 200 C for about 20 minutes, depending on the oven. Spread the hot cake with jam and sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Cut as desired.
