Embargo cake - Suzana Mitić
- 4 grated apples
- 2 cups of sugar
- 1 cup of flour
- 1/2 cup of grits
- 1/2 cup polenta
- 1 bag of baking powder
- 1/2 bag of baking soda
- 2 vanilla sugars
- To coat:
- 4 cups of jam
- 50 g of ground walnuts
- Grate apples and add sugar. Leave to stand for about 15 minutes. Add flour, semolina, polenta, oil, baking powder, baking soda and vanilla sugar.
- Mix everything with a ladle to obtain a homogeneous mixture. Bake in a tray lined with baking paper at 200 C for about 20 minutes, depending on the oven. Spread the hot cake with jam and sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Cut as desired.
