Balkan Cheese Festival, October 13 and 14 at Dom omladine Belgrade

"Balkan Cheese Festival", the Festival of Balkan cheeses, an exhibition of autochthonous cheeses of the Balkans, will be held during the weekend of October 13 and 14 in the premises of the Youth Center of Belgrade, a partner of this event.

Visitors will be able to taste rare and unusual types of hundreds of cheeses from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, France and Croatia, enjoy pairing cheeses with top wines and delicacies as well as cheese delicacies, and at this festival it will be presented for the first time and goat cheese in Irish Guinness beer.

The guest country of this festival is the Netherlands, known for its cheese production, which will also have its own presentation at the event itself.

The working hours of the "Balkan Cheese Festival" will be from 10 a.m. to 20 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The opening ceremony is on Saturday at 11 am.

The price of a one-day ticket is 250 dinars (includes tasting of cheeses and delicacies at all exhibitors' stands). Tickets are available at the Events ticket office in the Belgrade Youth Center.

At the festival, there will be presentations on the making of young cheese from the famous Dairy School "Dr. Obren Pejić" from Pirot, as well as lectures:

Saturday, October 13:

12:30 p.m.: "Dutch tradition: cheese production on farms"

14:30 p.m.: "Cheese making then and now"

16 pm: "History of cheese making and types of cheeses in the Netherlands"

Sunday, October 14:

14:30 p.m.: "Forbidden, forgotten and neglected cheeses of the world"
16:00 p.m.: "Old dishes made of cheese and dairy products as part of the intangible cultural heritage of Serbia"

The award ceremony for the best cheeses according to the votes of the audience, the most beautiful stand and the most beautiful plate of cheeses will be held on Sunday, October 14 at 19 pm.
