The Festival of dough, pasta and bread Testival, abbreviated as Festival Testival 2020, will be held in Belgrade on February 29 and March 1, 2020, in Dorćol Platz.
This festival was conceived with the aim of focusing on small producers of traditional food, and the main goal is to preserve the rich heritage of food culture, while respecting the various influences that have made Serbian cuisine diverse and special since ancient times.
Festival Testival is a spontaneous reaction and a logical continuation of cooperation with the team that designed and realized the project of publishing a book about traditional Serbian cuisine, Traditional recipes of domestic Serbian cuisine, led by the author, Miodrag Ilić.
- The plan and idea of the festival is to unify the offer of artisanal dough, pasta and bread. The focus will be on the small producer. Of course, this refers to all dough products: pies, cakes, breads, bread... We would not like it to be a festival of only exhibition and sales character, which we are all used to, but to allow visitors to live, following interesting interactive workshops, see and learn something new, socializing with professional lecturers. Experienced housewives will also have their chance to present their knowledge - says Dejan Ilić, manager of the Testival and otherwise a professional chef and vice-champion of the world in carving.
In addition to the exhibition part of the Festival, more than 10 different educational workshops and lectures will be presented in two days, led by professional chefs, artisan producers of dough and pasta, lovers of food and a good drink.
