Some people call this cake Gemish, others Sudžuk. Either way, it's delicious and quick to prepare.

Gemish, ingredients:

  • 1,5 liters of water
  • 300 g of sugar
  • 200 g density
  • 1/2 bottle (5ml) of strawberry extract
  • walnuts or hazelnuts, if necessary, for decoration

Gemish, preparation:

  • Pour 1 liter of water and sugar into a suitable pan. Heat and stir to dissolve the sugar. Dissolve the mixture in 0,5 l of water and pour into a saucepan with water and sugar. Stir to thicken.
  • Pour half of the mixture into a tray (35x25cm), moistened with water.
  • Add the extract to the second part, mix and pour into the pan over the white part.
    Cool, at room temperature, then put in the refrigerator. When it cools down and hardens, cut into pieces of the desired size.
  • Garnish with walnuts, ground walnuts or hazelnuts.
  • Enjoy the taste!
