Grapes and hot peppers in a jar, for all gourmets who like sweet and spicy flavors. If you haven't tried this kind of winter coat before, try it now.
Grapes and hot peppers in a jar - for 2 jars of 720 grams, you need:
- 1 kg of white grapes, with firm grain
- 200 grams of hot peppers
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 4 spoons of sugar
- 60 milliliters of white vinegar
- water as needed
Grapes and hot peppers in a jar, preparation:
- Wash the grapes, clean them from the stems, make sure that each grain remains whole.
- Also, wash and cut off the stems from the hot peppers, making sure that the peppers remain whole.
- Arrange grapes and peppers alternately. Make sure it stacks nicely, so you can pack as much as possible into the jar.
- Fill the jars to the brim. Pour 1 teaspoon of salt, 2 tablespoons of sugar and 30 milliliters of vinegar into each jar.
- Fill the jars with cold water to cover the grapes. Close with a metal cap and pasteurize. I pasteurize these smaller jars of up to 720 grams in a dishwasher. I set the machine to the highest temperature.
- You can pasteurize in the classic way in a pot, by placing a trulex or kitchen towel on the bottom of the pot, and arranging the jars over it. Pour cold water up to the lid and let it boil. A maximum of 5 minutes from the start of boiling.
- Leave the jars to cool in the pot. Wipe the cold jars and store them in a cool place until use.
- Once you open the jar and start using it, keep it in the fridge, as there are no preservatives.
