Bread with mulberries - Verica Poznanović - Recipes and Cookbook online

Bread with black mulberry - the most Chinese plant is sang, mulberry or mulberry, and it came to us by way of silk.

We were very far from silk and velvet when, 4000 years ago, Empress Huang-Ti taught her subjects how to cultivate silkworms, but over time silk did arrive, and mulberry with it.

Mulberries are planted along roads, in parks, on the edges of plots, around vineyards, in yards. This tree is a trademark of Vojvodina farms and traditional country yards in most of Serbia. Live up to 250 years old.

It is sad to see how the mulberries are falling and no one is collecting them. And you can make a lot out of mulberry.
Cakes, jam, pie, according to your imagination and will.

This time I decided to make something unusual, bread with black mulberry. Black mulberry is not very sweet. So let's start making.

My son Petar would say: "God, mom, who else made bread with mulberry, what will it look like?" What will not occur to you."

I never knew how to make something small, I started with a kilo of flour, it was little, so I added more. I ended up baking two loaves of bread. I will make it and we will see the end result.

Bread with black mulberry, ingredients:

  • 1 kg of flour,
  • half a liter of lukewarm water,
  • half a teaspoon of sugar,
  • 20 g of fresh yeast,
  • 1 teaspoon of salt and
  • 3 handfuls of mulberries (I added black mulberries)

Bread with black mulberry, preparation:

  • Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water with added sugar and leave for ten minutes.
  • During this time, mix flour and salt in a mixing bowl, make a well in the middle and add water with stirred yeast and mulberries.
  • Knead the dough, if it is very thin, add a little more flour.
  • Leave covered for about 40 minutes.
  • Knead the dough and let it rise a little more.
  • Sprinkle flour on the work surface, take the dough out of the pan and knead it well by hand.
  • When the dough is nicely mixed, shape it as desired into a circle or loaf.
  • Transfer the bread to a tray or mold that you have lined with baking paper.
  • Cut in a few places with a knife and let it rise for another 30 minutes before baking.
  • Turn on the oven at 250°C.
  • Only when the oven is fully heated, put the bread to bake.
  • The bread is baked for approximately 40 to 45 minutes at the highest temperature and another 5 minutes in the turned off oven.
  • When you take the bread out of the oven, wrap it in a cotton cloth and let it cool.
  • As I said, I baked two loaves of bread.
