Bread in the shape of a pumpkin. Linden, the sacred tree of our ancestors, from whose wood statues of deities and things used in the house were made.

It is also known for the fact that mead was made from its honey, as well as that it protects against spells and evil forces, from lightning strikes, and that is why today in some parts of Serbia, we can see linden branches under the roof, as a protection against lightning. Among the ancient Slavs , the linden tree was associated with the goddess of love, Lada. I love the intoxicating smell of linden so much. Linden is a tree of beauty.

Pumpkin bread, ingredients:

  • 800 g of flour,
  • 42 g of fresh yeast,
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar,
  • salt to taste
  • 400 g of pumpkin puree and
  • 300 ml of water.

To coat:

  • PONTI ACETO BALSAMICO DI MODENA

Balsamic vinegar from Modena.
A special type of vinegar - obtained from grapes, produced according to the manufacturer's specifications.
Wine vinegar, concentrated grape must, caramel color.

Bread in the shape of a pumpkin, preparation:

  • Pour the flour, sugar and salt into a bowl and add the yeast (which you stirred in a little lukewarm water with the addition of sugar and flour).
  • Mix well and then add pumpkin puree mixed with lukewarm water and knead the dough.
  • Cover the dough and let it double in size, knead it and let it rise again.
  • Form the dough into a ball and loosely weave it with twine to make it look like slices on a pumpkin.
  • I coated the whole dough with a special type of vinegar obtained from grapes, and that gave the dough such a color when baking.
  • I put the stem from a real pumpkin,
  • I put the pumpkin in a baking tray, and left it to rise for 30 minutes, and then put it in the oven at 220 degrees for about 50 minutes to bake, that is, until it is nicely browned.
  • Cool the pumpkin and carefully remove the string.

Enjoy every bite!
