A fair was opened in Hall 3 at the Belgrade Fair yesterday Ethnic food and drink. Visitors are presented with 300 exhibitors from the country and abroad with more than a thousand different traditional products.

State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Dejan Krnjaić, opened the Fair and announced that a regulation on the way of preparing traditional dishes will be adopted. "For next year, the state has prepared significant subsidies for all those who are involved in the preservation of tradition in food preparation," said Krnjaić.

Traditional food is gaining more and more importance, especially in Serbia's accession to the EU, because it can be competitive in foreign markets, thanks primarily to its quality. For the rebranding of Serbia, the ongoing process is also a good step for the Ethnic Food and Beverage Fair, as well as for small producers from rural areas that we want to support," Raketić pointed out.

The President of the Belgrade Cooperative Association, Velimir Radojević, said that "Belgrade and Serbia need this kind of Fair", because it enables agricultural producers to go to the market faster and find sales channels. Radojević announced that around 30 domestic exhibitors will be presented at the stand of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, and that the guests of the chamber are Banja Luka and Bijeljina, which will present another ten producers of traditional food from the Republic of Srpska.

City Secretary for Economy Tijana Maljković announced that the City will support the development of agriculture because it is the future of Belgrade and the surrounding municipalities. "We have prepared educational workshops, and in cooperation with the City Markets we will present producers from the territory of the City," said Maljković.

The director of the public company Gradske pijace, Ivan Sočo, said that this year, 15 agricultural producers from Belgrade's markets are participating for the first time at the Ethnic Food and Beverage Fair. This is the promotion of Serbian tradition and healthy nutrition through two projects: "Caravans through the markets of the city" and "I know who produces my food", said Sočo.

In addition to food manufacturers, several manufacturers of equipment for storing and packing traditional products, an insurance company and a bank will be presented at the Ethnic Food and Beverage Fair. The performance of the renowned laboratory for food quality control is particularly significant for the participants and visitors of the Fair.

The basic business idea of ​​this fair manifestation is contained in the slogan - "Establishment of the ethnic product brand", and the second is the exclusive promotion of numerous traditional products as part of the tourist offer. This implies an increase in the number of products with protected geographical origin, such as Leskovac ajvar, Kačar honey, Homolj honey, tobacco-chovarak, futo cabbage and others that need a systemic stimulus in order to become a brand and a profitable export item, said Gavrilo Veselinović from the Ethno Fair Council. food and drink.

The patrons and co-organizers of the Fair, which marks a significant jubilee, are the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, the City Assembly, the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia and the Chamber of Commerce of Belgrade, and for the first time the newly formed Association of Producers of Traditional Serbian Products "Original Serbia" will be presented with its members.

Fair visitors have the opportunity to buy ajvar at a price of 450 to 500 dinars per jar, "ironed" sausage is 3.500 dinars/kg, and a kilogram of peaches costs 300 dinars. The Etno Food and Beverage Fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 19 p.m., and on Friday, November 30, from 10 a.m. to 17 p.m.
