Homemade fruit tea as an ideal hot drink

There is hardly anyone who does not like tea, whether it is made from medicinal herbs or fruit. Or maybe a combination, why not?! If homemade fruit tea prepare it yourself, there is no fear that it will contain artificial flavors, as is the case with most store-bought teas.

Teas are tastiest from wild fruits, but you can also make them from home-grown ones. I decided to combine pomegranate, thorns, wild apples and white acacia flowers.

Pick rosehips when they are ripe. When it is ripe, it has the same color as in the photos (the pomegranate should not be soft but firm). If the fruits are larger, cut them into smaller pieces so that they dry faster.

The same is the case with thorns, choose ripe fruits. Choose smaller fruits as they will dry out more easily.

I haven't dried the apples yet, I will add them later. Apples also need to be cut into smaller cubes.

You can replace the white acacia with another plant if you are not able to find it now. I was lucky enough to come across an acacia that was blooming again.

ingredients:

 • Rosehip fruit
 • the fruit of the thorn
 • wild apples
 • white acacia flower

The quantities of the listed ingredients are arbitrary.

Preparation:

 • You can dry fruit for tea naturally, but it will take a little more time.
 • Place the fruit on a tray, cover it with a cotton cloth or gauze and keep it in a draft, if possible.
 • If you are not able to dry the fruit in this way, you can speed up the drying process by using the oven.
 • Dry the fruit at 50 degrees, occasionally opening the oven as the steam escapes.

You can also prepare tea by partially drying the fruit in the oven, and then drying it in the air.

It is important that the fruit is completely dry when you put it in a jar that you will close. If the fruit is not completely dry, there is a possibility that it will become hollow.

You can store the tea in a paper bag if it seems that it is not dry enough.

I dry acacia in the air. Acacia flowers have little liquid in them, so they dry out faster than the fruit.

Prepare the tea in the usual way - pour 1 tablespoon of tea with 2-3 dl of boiling water, cover and strain after about 10 minutes. Sweeten it as desired and season it with lemon juice, cinnamon, vanilla...
