How to make plum jam or marmalade without sugar?

Za plum jam without sugar, the most important thing is to choose ripe fruits because they are the sweetest. Also, it is recommended to use different types of plums because the jam/jam will be tastier.

Ripe fruits, in addition to a large amount of sugar, also contain a higher percentage of water, which is why the jam needs to be cooked longer.

But don't worry.

You will reduce the cooking time if you add 1 g of finely chopped or grated apples to 100 kg of plums. Apples contain pectin, which will thicken the plum jam and give it a creamy texture.

Sugar-free plum jam, ingredients for 1 jar of 720 ml:

  • 1 kg of cleaned plums
  • 100 g of apple.

Plum jam without sugar, preparation:

  • Put the cleaned plums in a pot with a diameter of about 22 cm.
  • Cook at a lower temperature until they release their liquid.
  • Add the apple and cook for about an hour, stirring occasionally.
  • The length of cooking depends on how thick you want to get as well as how much water the plums have.

The plums will fall apart during cooking, but if you want to get the structure of jam, chop them up further (chop them smaller before cooking or mix them partially with a hand mixer during cooking).

Pour the jam into sterilized jars and store in the usual way.
