Cheese dumplings - these dumplings can be a side dish to meat, or you can eat them sweetened with sugar and with the addition of cinnamon or walnuts. The dumplings are soft and melt in your mouth.
- 500 g of young cow's cheese ((ELLA cheese can also be used))
- 2 tablespoons of bread crumbs
- 2 spoons of semolina
- a pinch of salt
- 2 pieces of eggs
- coarse flour if necessary
For sprinkling:
- bread crumbs (optional)
- sugar (optional)
- oil (or butter, if needed)
- cinnamon (optional)
- walnuts (optional)
- Add crumbs, semolina, salt to the cheese, which should be as dry as possible, and mix everything well.
Leave this mixture for 30 minutes in the refrigerator, add eggs and, if necessary, flour to obtain a soft dough. - Make dumplings from the dough, drop them into boiling salted water. Cook them until they float
on the surface. It is from 10-15 minutes.
Dry the cooked dumplings on a kitchen towel or paper and roll them in the crumbs you fried
in butter or oil.
Serve them still warm in a salty or sweet version. - If you have more time and want to surprise your guests or family members, you can fill the dumplings or serve them with vanilla cream and berry sauce.
