Dumplings with strawberries - BKTVnews - printscreen

Many loved the dumplings with plums, but they knew that the grandmothers needed the whole morning to make them. Actually, the process is very simple. All it takes are a few basic ingredients and a little patience. As strawberries are in season, you can make this old recipe in a slightly different way and get a completely new taste: dumplings with strawberries!

Dumplings with strawberries, ingredients:

for the dough:

  • 500 grams of flour
  • 75 grams of butter
  • 2 large potatoes
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

for breadcrumbs:

  • 10 grams of butter
  • 200 breadcrumbs
  • 20 strawberries

Dumplings with strawberries, preparation:

  • Peel and boil the potatoes. Leave to cool. Then mash it, add salt, egg yolk and butter. Mix everything well, then add the flour spoon by spoon. Knead gently, so that it does not become too hard. Add the flour until it stops sticking to your fingers.
  • Clean the strawberries from the stems and lay them on a plate to dry. If they are sweet, do not sweeten them additionally.
  • Separate small pieces from the dough with your hand, stretch it with your fingers, and then put the plum inside it. Close it like a small packet and shape it into a ball. Close it well on all sides so that the plum does not release its juice during cooking and leak.
  • Bring water to a boil in a large pot. Then add the dumplings. When they float to the top, you know they're done. Take them out.
  • Meanwhile, while they were cooking, fry the breadcrumbs with a little butter in a separate pan. Stir them over low heat until they turn golden. Then remove it from the stove and add the dumplings to the pot. Shake them a few times until they are well rolled in the breadcrumbs.

And your good old candy is ready!
