Cubes with polenta - for all lovers of hot breakfast or cold dinner!

  • 500 ml milk
  • salt (pinch)
  • 200 g of polenta
  • 200 g of cheese
  • 200 g of ham
  • 1 piece of egg
  • 100 g of flour
  • 50 g breadcrumbs
  • oil for frying
  1. Pour the milk into the pan, add a pinch of salt and cook the polenta in the usual way, stirring all the time. When it is cooked, pour the polenta into a suitable square pan so that the thickness of the polenta is approximately 1 cm. Allow to cool.

  2. Cut the cooled polenta into 4×4 cm cubes.

  3. Put a piece of cheese and a slice of sundae rolled into quarters and coated with cheese on each cube. Cover with another polenta cube and press lightly on all sides. Dip each cube first in the flour, then the egg, and finally put it in a plate with breadcrumbs.

  4. Fry in hot oil on both sides until they get a nice brown color. Remove with a slotted spoon on a kitchen towel to absorb excess fat.

  5. Serve with yogurt or ajvar. They are equally good both hot and cold.
