Nectarine compote - Kristina Gašpar

In addition to cooking jams and freezing, fruit can be preserved for winter days in the form of compote (in this case it is nectarine compote, and in the same or similar way, you can prepare compote from another fruit). Compote preparation is very simple.

I haven't prepared it for a long time. Nectarines fascinated me this year (as you might have noticed), so I decided to put them in jars and decorate them with bows. I decided to prepare nectarine compote for the winter.

Nectarine compote, ingredients for 1 jar of 720 ml:

  • 400 g of cleaned nectarines (roughly)
  • 3 dl of water
  • 30 g of sugar
  • vanilla (optional)

Nectarine compote, preparation:

  • Arrange nectarines in a jar.
  • Boil water and sugar.
  • Pour over the nectarines, close the jar and pasteurize for ten minutes.
  • Nectarine compote is ready for winter.

I advise you to choose smaller and firmer fruits. Of course, if you have larger nectarines, you can cut them into several parts. You can correct or increase the amount of sugar if you wish.

Nectarine compote can be used for various cakes, cookies, desserts, fruit salads...

In this way, in addition to nectarines, you can preserve: peaches, plums, apricots, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, figs...

And you can also make a fruit mix of your choice.
