I already told this on the radio, so why not here. Most decent apartment buildings, including mine (in one of the blocks in New Belgrade) keep a small trash can right next to the mailboxes.
They are small, but mostly enough for the few notes and advertising flyers that we find. However, flyers are not a problem, I know many people for whom it is a valuable source of pocket money; the problem is my careless neighbors who never aim at that unfortunate bin...
At the end of the working day, when I myself return home, I usually find more papers lying around than in the basket itself. I see, the neighbors don't mind, as if they don't notice these (intentional or accidental) failures. I think one day I'll stick a post next to the basket:
"If you're this precise about hitting THAT thing, then you have zero percent chance of becoming a father."
That's why Serbia is falling apart from the white plague. And I thought...
But that's not all (I look like those from Teleshop, don't I?):
The next paragraph does not refer to my building neighbors, but to my Facebook neighbors. Like my FB neighbor Maja Stanković, I also do not understand what kind of time gate is stuck in the minds of some Facebook activists, so they persistently replace diacritical marks with "sh", "ch", "cc", "zz" and other recurrences from the times of Tanjug's telexes and teleprinters.
Either they enjoy harassing the readers of their posts with tedious spelling or they think it's chic (exclamation: "retro is in fashion!"). Did no one really show them how to set the keyboard to any of the regional languages? Since I am slowly but surely losing my understanding of this "translation" of diacritics, I think that from now on I will (dia)critically block the authors of such posts. The only way to spare the other visitors unnecessary harassment.
Unless now I, sharpened like this, speak the language of wooden teleprinters on the radio! That would already be undeniably original, very unrepeatable... and absolutely unlistenable. Even for me.
