Old fashioned vanillas - there are many recipes for vanillas, they are all mostly similar. Neither simpler nor more beautiful cakes.

They are prepared with margarine, butter, but, for me, they are best prepared with fat. The fat adds flavor, and the vanilla beans melt in your mouth. And another rule applies to old-fashioned vanilla: no baking powder! They are baked on low heat, which means they should remain white.

Old vanilla, ingredients:

  • 250 g of fat,
  • 5 spoons of sugar,
  • 1 egg yolk,
  • 500 g of flour,
  • apricot jam and
  • powdered sugar.

Old-fashioned vanilla ice cream, preparation:

  • Beat the fat until foamy, add egg yolks, sugar, flour and knead the dough.
  • Leave the dough to rest for a while.
  • After that, roll out the crust about half a centimeter to one centimeter thick, then use a mold or brandy glasses of the smallest diameter to make small circles.
  • Arrange in a baking tray and bake at 180 degrees for about 15-20 minutes, making sure they stay white.
  • Coat the baked vanilla beans with jam and join two by two, then roll in powdered sugar.
