Salčići, Serbian croissant! Starting from 01.09.2021. until 31.12.2021. send your recipes, which will compete for the title of BEST SALČIĆI SERBIA.
For those who don't know, SALČIĆI are dessert, sweet rolls with jam, made of puff pastry, mixed with pork lard, characteristic of Serbian cuisine.
Salčići are made like puff pastry, but instead of classic fats such as butter or oil, which are used to make puff pastry, pork fat is used, which gives salčići a characteristic rich aroma. For the preparation of this delicacy, lard is used in its original solid form, not rendered lard. Simplified: it is ground, then spread between the layers of dough and thus the leafy character of the rolls is obtained, which are filled with jam. Many people call this specialty of Serbian cuisine the Serbian croissant.
THE BEST SALČIĆI IN SERBIA
The competition is part of our traditional selection for the best recipe of the year, which we organize for the eighth time in a row. This time - the topic is SALČIĆ! The more traditional you make them, the more traditional the recipe you use, the better - you will get a higher score.
The ten best recipes for SALČIĆ, chosen by the editors of Recipes and Kuvar online, will be in the super final at the spring Festival TESTIVAL, early next year, where the expert jury will decide which are the best!
Everything available to the editors and the jury will be analyzed: the number of likes on the Facebook page Recipes and Cooking Online, the number of shares on the Facebook page Recipes and Cooking Online, the number of shares on the page of the recipe itself, the number of likes on the Instagram page Recipes and Cooking Online... and most important will be: on-site judging by the jury - presentation and taste.
