For those who do not know, SLAVA (KRSNA IME, KRSNA SLAVA) is part of the intangible cultural heritage of the Republic of Serbia and is registered as an element in National Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Serbia, as well as on UNESCO list of world intangible cultural heritage.
SLAVIC CAKE is an indispensable part of the traditional ritual of Slava: "In the family's home, on the day dedicated to the saint whom they are celebrating during the ritual, a specially designated slavish candle is lit, the prayer of the Our Father is recited and the cutting is performed celebration cake (it must have the IS HS NI KA symbol stamped on it) by pouring wine over it, cutting it in the shape of a cross, then turning it over and breaking it into four parts while lifting it up. During the ritual, thanks to the saint and prayers for well-being are said. Ritual cutting cakes performed by the host with the oldest or most important guest ("dolibaša"), his heir and other family members. This time - the theme is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CELEBRATION CAKE! The more traditional you make it, the more traditional recipe you use, the more beautiful you decorate it - the better - you will get a higher score.
The six best recipes with the most beautiful photos for CELEBRATION CAKE, chosen by the editors of Recipes and Kuvar online, will be in the super final, at the beginning of next year, where the expert jury will decide which are really the best!
