Cream pasta with salmon is a version of pasta carbonara, for all those who do not eat or do not like the smell or taste of smoked bacon. Salmon, especially smoked salmon, is a good substitute for bacon.

  • 6 tablespoon of butter
  • 0,5 head of red onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
  • 2 cup of milk
  • 0,5 cup Parmesan (or Romano cheese)
  • 1 cup peas (frozen)
  • 0,5 cup mushrooms (finely chopped)
  • 300 g of salmon (finely chopped)
  • 500 g of pasta (tagliatelle, or whatever you have)
  1. In a deep pot, heat the water until it boils. Salt the water. Add the pasta and cook for 8-10 minutes, i.e. according to the instructions on the package.
  2. Melt the butter in a large pan. Fry the onion until soft.
  3. Add flour and garlic powder. Slowly stir in the milk. Heat just until boiling, then slowly add and stir in the cheese. Stir until the sauce is smooth. Add peas and mushrooms. Simmer on low heat for another 4 minutes.
  4. Add the salmon cubes and simmer for another 2-3 minutes. Serve warm over pasta.
