Donuts recipe for delicious donuts, for all ages.

  • 1,5 cup of milk
  • 70 g margarine
  • 0,5 packages of fresh yeast
  • 0,33 cups warm water (at 35 to 40 C degrees)
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 0,25 cup sugar
  • 1,5 teaspoon of salt
  • 700 g flour (650 g for doughnuts, and about 50 g for mixing)
  • 0,5 piece of lemon peel (finely grated peel of half a lemon)
  1. Heat the milk in a small saucepan and melt the margarine in it.
  2. In another small bowl, stir the fresh yeast in lukewarm water and leave it to rise for ten minutes.
  3. Add half of the flour to the mixing bowl. Add the milk with the whipped margarine, which must be cooled beforehand, so that it is lukewarm. Add the whipped yeast, beaten eggs, salt, sugar and the grated rind of half a lemon. Mix with a mixer, first using the lowest speed, then after a few minutes, medium speed. After a few minutes, add the rest of the flour. Mix with a mixer, again, using first the lowest speed, then after a few minutes, medium speed. The dough for the donuts must be completely equalized and become smooth. Cover the dish with a damp cloth or self-adhesive plastic film and leave for about 1 hour, until the mass doubles.
  4. Take out the mass on the work surface, which you have previously sprinkled with flour, so that it does not stick, and form balls in the shape of a doughnut. You can use a suitable mold for cutting dough for donuts, or glasses with a slightly larger opening. The diameter of the donut should be about 7 cm, and the thickness of the mass about 1-1,5 cm.
  5. Place the prepared donuts on the baking paper, which you have sprinkled with flour, to rest for about 30 minutes. Dust the prepared donuts with flour and cover with a very thin cloth.
  6. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan to a high temperature. Fry the donuts in hot oil for about 1 minute on each side. Leave the finished donuts on a paper towel to drain. Leave them to cool for about 15 minutes, then sprinkle them with sugar, or cover them with melted chocolate, before serving.
