The culinary team of Serbia is at the 2nd International Culinary Competition held from 24.10. until 28.10.2017. in Strumica, Macedonia, won grand prix for the best international chef for 2017, grand prix for the best young international chef of the year, grand prix for the best culinary team of the year and grand prix for the best young culinary team of the year.
In a competition of over 300 competitors from 33 countries, Mladen Pršić was declared the best international chef of the year, Jovan Nikolić Njegovan was declared the best international young chef of the year, the best international culinary team of the year consisted of Mladen Pršić, Branko Jovanović and Miloš Ćirić, while the best international young team of the year consisted of Jovan Nikolić Njegovan, Milan Stevanović and Predrag Lazić. Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev personally presented the prizes to the winners.
"First of all, I would like to praise the great organization and the wonderful hosts from the Culinary Association Gastromak, who made an effort to make us feel at home.. It is an understatement to say that we are delighted with the results achieved. This is a great success for us, considering that there were over 300 competitors from over 33 countries of the world. Bearing in mind that the judges are directors of the World Association of Chefs, "Michelin Star" chefs and presidents of the most respected world associations of head chefs, we prepared for this competition very long and very exhaustively. The judging was strict and at a very high level, and the organization and working conditions were impeccable. Bearing in mind that a huge number of competitors registered, the competition started every day at 7.00 am and ended at 03.00 am the next day, the competitors were very tired and had a hard time enduring this exhausting rhythm. The desire to present Serbian gastronomy in the best possible light motivated us to make additional efforts, and we succeeded in doing so. I want to congratulate these golden boys and mentors for their hard work and love for Serbia, as well as Vujadin Vujadinović from the HoReCa Association of Serbia, who made an effort to ensure that the organization of this level took place at the highest level. Thanks also to Saša Mišić (Hell's Kitchen) who provided us with unreserved support and with his knowledge and authority contributed to these guys being the absolute winners of the competition - said the Honorary President of the Culinary Federation of Serbia, Đorđe Kostić.
I would have to highlight the moment of the evening after the awards ceremony, when the Albanian team and the Serbian team stayed together at the party and took pictures with their national symbols and socialized until the morning hours. These children are a source of pride and the whole of Serbia should admire them - pointed out the President of AŠKS Dejan Stanković.
The Culinary Federation of Serbia was represented at this competition by: Association of Chefs of Serbia, HoReCa Association Kragujevac and Culinary Association of Serbia.
