Cabbage in white sauce.

Cabbage in white sauce, ingredients:

  • a head of fresh cabbage about 1,5 kg,
  • so,
  • and a meal supplement.

For the white sauce:

  • 50 g of butter and maybe a spoonful of fat or oil,
  • 50 grams of flour, i.e. a tablespoon,
  • the water in which the cabbage was cooked.

For the filling:

  • oil or fat, 
  • head of garlic,
  • 300 g of cured ham or 200 g of dry bacon and
  • half a bunch of parsley leaves.

A side dish can be boiled potatoes in their skins.

Cabbage in white sauce, preparation:

  • Cut the cleaned and washed head of cabbage into 8 parts and soak in salted water for about 15 minutes, then take it out to drain.
  • Fry 50 g of flour in 50 g of butter, and pour the water in which the cabbage was boiled, so that a white sauce is obtained.
  • Fry a chopped onion head and chopped cured ham or dry bacon in oil. and season with parsley.
  • Oil the bottom of an ovenproof dish, arrange half of the cooked cabbage, sprinkle with food additives, then pour over half of the stewed ham or dry bacon on onions and half of the white sauce.
  • Arrange the remaining cabbage on top of it, then sprinkle it again with the food additive, and pour the remaining quantity of stewed ham on onions and white sauce over it.
  • Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes at 2000C. Boiled potatoes are served with this dish.

Preparation time about 70 minutes. It is enough for 6 people.
