METRO Cash & Carry supports young chefs
Belgrade, September 30, 2016 - Sponsor Junior Chefs club-a, METRO Cash & Carry Serbia, continues to support our young chefs. This time the company will be one of the sponsors of the "Junior Chef Club" at the world's largest gastronomic competition, the Culinary Olympics, which will be held from October 22 to 25, 2016 in the German city of Erfurt.
Talented chefs have a huge chance to achieve great success, as they won the bronze medal at the previous major competition - the World Cup in Luxembourg in 2014, despite the fierce global competition. The colors of Serbia will be defended this year by a young team including: Aleksandar Tomić, Jovan Mijušković, Aleksandra Sarić, Teodora Kosorić, Stefan Živković led by coaches Aleksandar Ilić and Nikola Biševac.
The Serbian Juniors Chefs Club in the METRO Horeca Center is preparing very hard for the Olympics, where they have ideal conditions for practice and thanks to this, a greater chance of achieving their ambitions, which is to win some of the medals.
Many successes of young culinary hopefuls were recorded in the current year at international tournaments, among them the young chef Jovan Tomović (17) who won as many as seven medals and a cup at the International Culinary Cup in Romania, and chef Uroš Bolić who won gold medal at the Balkan Culinary Cup in Bulgaria, and Teodora Kosorić (21) from Belgrade, in addition to numerous successes, won the title of "Best Young Chef of Serbia" in 2014.
This prestigious competition has been held every fourth year since 1900. At the 22nd Culinary Olympiad, our team will compete with the best chefs from over 60 countries in the world.
