Leafy stars - sourdough stars, sprinkled with sesame, cumin and poppy seeds.

  • 700-800 g of flour
  • 1 packet of yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 spoon of salt
  • 350-400 g of small cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 dl oil
  • 100 g margarine
  • 1 dl of water
  • 2 dl of milk

To coat:

  • 1 egg

  1. Add a teaspoon of sugar to lukewarm water and dissolve the yeast.
  2. Let it stand for ten minutes.
  3. Add lukewarm milk to the yeast, then flour mixed with salt, eggs, oil and finally cheese. Mix all the ingredients and knead the dough.
  4. Leave the dough covered for about an hour in a warm place to double in size.
  5. Knead the resulting dough and roll it out with a rolling pin.
  6. Finely chop half of the margarine, separate the dough and roll it up, then separate again and add the remaining margarine.
  7. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1 cm and cut out stars with a mold.
  8. Arrange in an oiled pan. Brush with egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds, cumin and poppy seeds. Let them rest for another ten minutes and bake in a heated oven at 250 degrees until golden brown.
