Shellfish, ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 450 ml of water,
  • 20 g of fresh yeast,
  • 700 g of flour,
  • 2 teaspoons of salt,
  • 1 tablespoon of lard.

To coat:

  • 1 tablespoon of lard.

For frying:

  • lard if necessary.

Flakes, preparation:

For the dough:

  • In a suitable container, mix lukewarm water, yeast, salt, fat and, gradually adding flour, knead the dough.
  • Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for 25 minutes in a warm place.
  • After that, knead the dough on a floured work surface and use a rolling pin to roll it into a larger crust.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of lard and coat the crust.
  • Twist into a roll and cut into 7 pieces.
  • Wrap the ends of each piece (like candy) and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  • After that, roll out each piece with a rolling pin into a circle (the size of a pan).
  • Fry in hot lard until golden brown on both sides.
  • Place on kitchen paper to drain excess fat.

Tip: Traditional Serbian dish. Serve with cheese, ajvar, prosciutto or as a sweet option: with jam, jam. Pleasant!
