Usually, macaroni we can introduce the baby around the 8th month of life, when we have already introduced all cereals, including semolina, and established that the baby has no allergies and is not intolerant to gluten. Most macaroni is made from wheat. If there is a family history of gluten intolerance or allergies, wait before introducing macaroni and consult with your pediatrician.

The benefits of macaroni for your baby?

Macaroni is highly nutritious and most of them are rich in certain types of vitamins and minerals. Also, they are rich in carbohydrates. Although carbohydrates themselves have a bad reputation, they help our body to produce additional energy, which the little ones need in this period.

Of course, there is also a difference in choosing macaroni and whether it is made from whole grain or semolina.

One portion of macaroni contains an average of 200 grams of calories, 7 grams of protein, 1 gram of fat, about 42 grams of carbohydrates, but also about 15 mg of calcium, 2,5 mg of iron, in addition to magnesium, phosphorus, potassium (potassium), zinc , vitamin B6 and B12, vitamin A, niacin, thiamin...

How to choose macaroni?

You can make them yourself if you have a machine or buy homemade or organic whenever you can.

Macaroni can stand for a long time until cooked. Keep them in their original packaging or in protective packaging. However, the longer they stand they can take on the taste of "old dough".

Fresh or homemade macaroni should always be refrigerated and frozen within 3 days, unless you plan to make them right away.

The best way to prepare macaroni?

Place the macaroni in boiling water and let it cook for between 6 and 14 minutes, depending on the type of macaroni. They are very easy to prepare, quick to prepare and can be easily cooled by rinsing under cold water, so that your baby's meal is ready in no time. A great choice when you are in a hurry or your baby is impatient for lunch.
